Reading the book “Biography of  Buster Casey” I really remember this statement about small town. After all, it reminds me of my own town which I want to tell about.

I live in a small town Soledar, which is located in Donetsk region. The population of the town is more than 14,000 people. Despite the small size, Soledar is an important and famous town in Ukraine. We have four salt mines. By the way, our salt is sold throughout the country and abroad. Also, our town has two schools, a hospital, five kindergartens, a church, a specialized secondary school, many shops and hairdressers.

          In the town of Soledar I live from childhood. Here I received the first education. Of course, my family and friends live in this town. I’m proud of my town, because there are lots of centers of creativity and sport. We have a sport complex with a swimming pool, a gym and a large stadium. Soledar is also proud of its athletes. Oleg Yefymovich – the resident of our town, became the European champion in boxing. Even my classmate Eugeneya Grigorenko  who is only 15 years old, became the master of sport of Ukraine in swimming.

I think that my town Soledar has many benefits. We have two big enterprises Knauf and Artemsol, which provide residents with work and the whole Ukraine with products. Despite factories our town has clear air. We have big parks and areas for rest. Our town is famous for creativity, such as poetry of Nicholas Dzhmil; for charity of sports complex “ Artemsol”, which arranges competitions for disabled and it is known for great Sviato – Preobrajhenckii church.

I’m proud of my small town and the fact, that I live here.
